Terms of Service
Welcome to Wordwreath, a daily word ring puzzle provided by [company name to come] ("we", "us") at https://wordwreath-game.pages.dev. These terms are an agreement between you and us. By playing or subscribing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Wordwreath.
The short version
- One puzzle a day is free. Premium subscriptions aren't open yet, and nobody can be charged today.
- If we offer Premium, it will be $3.99/month and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time, and we'll explain exactly how when subscriptions open. You'd keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund. Our Refund Policy has the details, including the 14-day withdrawal right in the EU, EEA, Switzerland and UK.
- Play fair, don't break things, and don't copy our puzzles.
This summary is for convenience. The full terms below are what apply.
1. The service
Wordwreath is a browser-based daily word puzzle: you arrange word tiles in a ring so each neighboring pair forms a compound word. Everyone can play one free puzzle each day. If we offer it, a paid Premium subscription adds every past puzzle in the archive, which grows by one a day, and 1 frost guard a week to protect your streak. We may add, change or remove features over time. We'll keep the free daily puzzle as the core of the game, and if we remove a Premium feature you've paid for, we'll let you know.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old to use Wordwreath. If you're under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you need a parent or guardian's permission to subscribe, and they agree to these terms on your behalf.
3. Accounts
There are no player accounts, and you don't need one to play free. If we add accounts or another way to link a subscription to you when subscriptions open, we'll update these terms first and explain how it works.
4. Premium subscriptions and automatic renewal
Premium subscriptions are not available yet, and nobody can be charged today. If and when we offer subscriptions, the following applies:
- Price and billing. Premium costs $3.99 per month, plus any applicable tax, unless a different price is shown to you at checkout. You're charged when you subscribe and then on the same day of each billing period.
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and we'll charge your payment method the then-current price, until you cancel. We'll show you these terms clearly and ask for your consent before your first charge.
- Yearly plan. If we offer a yearly plan and you choose it, it renews automatically each year on the same terms, and we'll send you a reminder before each yearly renewal.
- Payments. Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. When purchases open, the seller named at checkout will process your order and handle refunds. You authorize us and our processor to charge your chosen payment method for each renewal. If a payment fails, we may retry it or pause Premium until the payment issue is fixed.
- Accepting these terms. Before you buy, you'll be asked to accept these terms and our Refund Policy.
- Confirmation. After you subscribe, we'll email you a confirmation that includes the price, the billing frequency and how to cancel.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel any time, and we'll explain exactly how when subscriptions open. If we offer subscriptions:
- Cancelling will be online and at least as easy as signing up. You won't need to call anyone, and we won't make you sit through repeated offers to stay.
- We'll confirm your cancellation.
When you cancel, you won't be charged again. You keep Premium until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and then you return to the free plan.
6. Refunds
Our Refund Policy is part of these terms and explains refunds in full. In short:
- Payments are non-refundable, and we don't provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unused time, except where required by law.
- Purchases aren't open yet, and nobody can be charged today. When they open, refunds will be handled by the seller named at checkout, and we'll update these terms and the Refund Policy to name them first.
- If you're in the EU, EEA, Switzerland or UK, you have 14 days to withdraw from a one-off purchase or the first payment of a subscription and get a full refund, unless you agreed to get access straight away and have started using paid features.
- If you were charged by mistake (for example, a duplicate charge or a charge after you cancelled), email [contact to come] and we'll fix it.
7. One-time purchases
We may offer one-time purchases, such as a lifetime unlock or bonus content. These are not subscriptions: you pay once, and nothing renews.
- What you get. We'll show what a one-time purchase includes and its price (plus any applicable tax) before you pay. It gives you a license to access that content or feature under these terms; it isn't a purchase of the content itself, and it has no cash value.
- Lifetime unlock. "Lifetime" means for as long as Wordwreath runs, not the lifetime of the player. If we ever shut down Wordwreath, we'll give reasonable advance notice.
- Refunds. One-time purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by law. This includes the EU, EEA, Swiss and UK withdrawal right described in our Refund Policy. If you were charged by mistake, or a purchase doesn't work and we can't fix it, email [contact to come] and we'll make it right.
- Access. Before you pay, we'll explain how a one-time purchase is linked to you and how to use it.
8. Price changes
If we offer subscriptions, we may change the Premium price in the future. If we do, we'll notify subscribers in advance of their next renewal. The new price applies only from your next billing period after the notice. If you don't want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.
9. Acceptable use
Please play fair. You agree not to:
- Hack, disrupt, overload or try to get unauthorized access to Wordwreath or its systems
- Use bots, scripts or scrapers to play, collect puzzles or answers, or copy content in bulk
- Get around Premium limits or payment
- Copy, republish or sell our puzzles, archive or other content
- Use Wordwreath for anything illegal, harmful or abusive
10. Intellectual property
Wordwreath, including its puzzles, design, code, name, logo and other content, belongs to [company name to come] or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to play the game for your own non-commercial enjoyment under these terms. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we can use them without any obligation to you.
11. Sharing your results
You're welcome to share your results and streaks using the Share feature, including on social media. Please don't post full solutions in ways meant to spoil the game for others or to recreate our puzzles.
12. Disclaimers
Wordwreath is a game, provided for fun. To the fullest extent permitted by law, it is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise the game will always be available, error-free or that your locally saved progress will never be lost (for example, if your browser data is cleared).
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, [company name to come] and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, streaks, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Wordwreath. Our total liability for any claim relating to Wordwreath is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't be waived by law.
14. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Wordwreath at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. If we end your Premium subscription without cause, we'll refund the unused part of your current billing period.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [state to come], USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in [state to come], unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts. Before filing a claim, please email us at [contact to come] so we can try to resolve it informally.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the effective date at the top, and for significant changes we'll give you notice in advance, such as on the site. If you keep using Wordwreath after the changes take effect, you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree, you can stop using the game and cancel your subscription.
